ROCHESTER, NEW YORK,—

 Xerox hit a recent share price low of $1.30 per share, despite announcements of a new global structure designed to “eliminate redundancies”. The stock has lost approximately 83% of its value since the start of 2025, when the share price was as high as $9.68. The continued decline in share price is being attributed to several critical financial and structural factors. This includes Xerox Holdings announcing a surprise adjusted loss in January 2026 of $0.10 per share, missing the analyst consensus of a profit.

 According to Booknet Canada books by Canadians made up 14% of print book sales in Canada in 2025 — up from 12% in 2024. Canadian-owned publishers made up 6.2% of the total market share of books sold in Canada in 2025, up from 5.6% in 2024. For the eighth year running, two out of every five print books sold in 2025 in both the English- and French-language markets in Canada were categorized as either Juvenile or Young Adult.

 Metroland has announced the return of four printed weekly community newspapers. The Burlington Post, Oakville Beaver, Oshawa This Week and Whitby this week. The print version of these newspapers were cancelled when Metroland filed for creditor protection two years ago. Recently there appears to be a resurgence of community newspapers start ups. Freshet in Vancouver, Haida Gwaii News B.C., Norfolk News southern Ontario. Grant Haven Media is seven chain of local newspapers that has been expanding in South and  Central Ontario.
