—  Miraclon has announced the global roll-out of its new Flexcel Prime plate, which promises performance advantages as well as backward compatibility that has “never been done before”. Flexcel Prime involves a new plate and film. Key features include Lift Resist Formulation for easier mounting and re-mounting, and reduced plate curling. Miraclon also highlighted the plate’s Stay Clean Properties, which involves a reformulated plate surface that helps release the ink from the plate, reducing ink build up and ink drying during print runs. The Stay Clean Properties also make Flexcel Prime plates easier to clean after use, for jobs where the plates will be re-used.Other improvements in processing, inspection, and handling help to streamline operations in the plate room.
