ROCHESTER, NEW YORK,—  Xerox has expanded its production print portfolio.The Xerox Proficio Jet CS1100 is a B3 cut-sheet inkjet press that delivers speeds of up to 300 A4 images per minute.It features new Xerox-developed, proprietary printheads while a high-definition ink formulation delivers 1,200x1,200dpi resolution with 2-bit variable-drop imaging for precise dot placement and to produce smoother coverage and finer lines with crisper small text and knockouts. A scalable drying architecture supports media up to 350gsm, including coated stocks. Xerox said the press can be used for quality work from transactional and direct mail to graphic communications and commercial print. Questions have been asked if Xerox was abandoning the commercial print market (or high volume print)  after they stoped making its iGen5 and Nuvera digital presses and then the acquisition of Lexmark.
