TC Media taps Ted Markle as new prez
MONTREAL—Edward John (Ted) Markle has been appointed president of TC Media, the media sector of TC Transcontinental. He was previously senior vice president of content solutions, a role he held since 2011.
Markle replaces François Olivier, who has been acting president since last summer after Natalie Larivière vacated the position and joined TV channel chain V Interactions.
In past roles at TC, Markle managed the integration of several acquisitions, including Telemedia's publishing division, spearheaded The Globe and Mail's transition to a hybrid printing platform, and led the outsourced printing of California's San Francisco Chronicle newspaper.
"Ted knows our organization inside out and is completely familiar with the issues in our fast-changing media industry," said Olivier in a company release. "Since 1999, when he joined TC Transcontinental, he has rolled out several innovative business solutions across all sectors which are widely recognized today."
TC Media's portfolio includes magazines, books, newspapers and custom content. Its properties include Elle, Canadian Living, Coup de Pouce and The Hockey News. Parent company Transcontinental also runs TC Transcontinental Printing.
