Dscoop announces new online resources
NASHVILLE—In his Dscoop8 opening address, Dscoop executive director Eric Hawkinson announced two new initiatives, Dscoop University and the Dscoop Print Directory.
Dscoop University, a collaborative effort with HP Graphics Solutions Business, is described as a community-driven training program that will cover a range of topics in multiple market segments, including marketing, sales, operations and tech. The idea is to help printers gain more knowledge to drive growth.
The curriculum will combine the expertise of Dscoop's members with HP resources, and will be offered online through a secure web portal or in person at classroom sessions in various locations.
"A unique attribute of the Dscoop community is its 'members helping members' platform of knowledge sharing," said Hawkinson in a release. "That same element of member-driven content will significantly factor in Dscoop University's value for its attendees."
The Dscoop Print Directory will be a web-based tool for brand owners and designers to source digital print service providers, enabling them to easily dig up a company's capabilities and contact info. Users can search or browse according to a number of criteria including a printing company's name, location, capability or machines/technology used.
The service will launch in spring and will be translated into nine different languages. Dscoop members can already access the directory to upload their info.
Dscoop, the Digital Solutions Cooperative, was founded in 2005. It is an independent global organization for graphic arts business owners and professionals who use HP equipment.
