VistaPrint strikes print deal with FedEx, reports higher revenues
WINDSOR, ON—[This story has been updated]
FedEx and VistaPrint have developed a new application for the design, order and printing of business stationery and marketing materials. Customers of FedEx can design their products online at fedexoffice.com or at any FedEx Office Print & Ship Centers in the U.S. VistaPrint would then handle the printing.
“There are various components of this deal, including the sourcing aspects, which we believe will allow VistaPrint to increase its level of service and consistency while reaching more small business customers, which we are confident will benefit us in the long run,” said Robert Keane, president and CEO of VistaPrint, in a released statement.

FedEx bought the Kinko's chain of office copy shops in 2004.

The new multi-year deal with VistaPrint will also see FedEx become the primary express carrier for VistaPrint’s orders coming from its production facility in Windsor, Ont., to locations in North America.

A VistaPrint spokesperson said he could not comment further on the terms of the deal.

The company also reported revenues today of US$127.5 million for the third quarter of 2009, ending March 31, a 21% increase over revenue of US$105.8 million in the same quarter in 2008.  Net income for the third quarter was US$14.2 million, or 11.1% of revenue, a 24% increase compared to the US$11.5 million, or 10.8 % of revenue VistaPrint reported in the same quarter last year. The company also said it acquired 1.5 million new customers in the third quarter.

VistaPrint is known for its web-to-print business and operates 19 localized websites serving over 120 countries around the world.
