Mitchel Press Files Notice "Intention to Make a Proposal"
BURNABY, BC,—
Mitchell Press Limited filed a Notice of Intention to Make a Proposal on August 31, 2026, and MNP Ltd. has consented to act as Trustee under the Proposal. The Proposal includes Dollco would purchase Mitchell’s customer list and related transition records. Mitchell would receive 5% of the revenue generated from those customers for three years. Dollco may offer employment to selected Mitchell employees.
The transaction’s outside closing date is October 31. This would be an Asset Purchase by Dollco and would not be an acquisition of Mitchell Press as a company. Mitchell plans to market or liquidate its remaining equipment and assets separately. Mitchell has applied for court approval, with a hearing scheduled for September 17. Reasons given for the companies demise include an unsuccessful investment of $5 million into a digital printing press that failed to generate expected returns due to technical issues (the "Failed Printing Press") also the loss of its largest customer that accounted for approximately 25% of annual sales.
