SACKVILLE, NEW BRUNSWICK— Keagan Hawthorne owner of Gaspereau Press will move the operation to the Sackville train station. Taking over the heritage building is a "big responsibility, and it's a big project," said Keagan Hawthorne, the Sackville poet and printer who recently took over the award-winning publisher. We're really excited to be able to open up our print shop and invite the community in, to be able to show how we make books and why we make books the way we do," said Hawthorne. Gaspereau is known for the extra effort and care it puts into design, typography and printing. He plans to renovate about one-third of the building immediately, to house three heritage letterpress printing machines, a publishing office, a small retail store, and an area for waiting VIA Rail passengers.Gaspereau Press is a Canadian publishing company founded in Nova Scotia in 1997 by Andrew Steeves and Gary Dunfield. In 2025, it was announced that Keagan Hawthorne would acquire the company and transfer its operations to Sackville, New Brunswick. Gaspereau Press prints books that other publishers rejected, the books limited run of 800 to 1000 copies.
