INDIA—  Offset print manufacturers Monotech and Pressline have launched what they say is the ‘world’s first’ 34-inch roll-to-fold inkjet web press. The knowzzleJet M880 has been designed for high-volume and high-speed digital production and is marketed as an ‘ideal alternative’ to traditional web offset for short to medium runs. The press comes in two configurations, a fixed cut option to align with conventional web offset workflows and a variable cut option that enables variable printing capabilities. It features speeds of up to 150m/min and allows for continuous, stable operation for high-volume production. Four resolution options are available, and the press is powered by Memjet DuraLink printhead technology. It is integrated with Xitron RIP which offers seamless variable data printing and aims to ensure smooth integration with existing digital workflows. The machine was a collaboration between Tamil Nadu-headquartered manufacturer for printing and packaging, Monotech, and New Delhi-based Pressline India Private Limited, a manufacturer of inkjet web and web offset printing machinery.
