Transcontinental and The Globe and Mail Extend Newspaper Printing Agreement

Transcontinental, Canada’s largest printer, and The Globe and Mail, the country’s leading national newspaper, have announced the renewal of their long-standing partnership through a 10-year extension of their printing agreement. This renewal marks a major milestone in a partnership that spans 40 years — the longest-standing in the history of newspaper printing in Canada. Transcontinental has agreed to sell off it's packaging division for over $2 billion dollars. The company has said it will be focus on advancing the transformation of their Retail Services & Printing and Educational Publishing businesses. Transcontinental Printing has a network of 13 plants in Canada and some 3,500 employees. The sector offers a wide range of printing for flyers, in-store marketing products, newspapers, magazines and colour books. Even after the sale of its packaging division it will still be the largest printer in Canada with over a billion in sales.
