Canadian Paper Makes paper From Sugar Cane
NEW WESTMINSTER, B.C.,—

He says it is indiscernible from tree fibre paper, looks the same, feels the same, performs the same. Making paper from sugar cane eliminates the need to use trees for production. Other companies have tried manufacturing tree-free paper, products that are made without wood fibres but with alternatives like wheat, cotton or hemp.

Sugar Sheet copy paper is competitively priced with recycled paper.

Sugar cane can be harvested up to four times per year compared with decades trees can take too mature. Social Print Paper sources bagasse, converting the dry, pulpy product. Social Print Paper currently sells more than 350 million “sugar sheets” across Canada per year, with goals of expanding to the United States and increasing that number over the next two years. Social Print Paper has distribution hubs in Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal, Toronto with goals of expanding to the United States and increasing that number over the next two years.
