MISSISSAUGA—  Cascades has announced that it has sold the Cascades Flexible Packaging division of Cascades Inc. Flexible Packaging is Cascades' only plant that manufactures printed flexible plastic packaging and films.The Flexible Packaging operations employs 45 people, all of which will be retained by Five Star at closing. The acquired Flexible Packaging division supplies printed films and related towel and tissue packaging primarily to customers in Canada and the United States. Under the terms of the agreement Five Star will continue to supply Cascades Inc. and will assume the operations of the extrusion and printing operations in Mississauga Canada. This expansion allows Five Star to provide supply reliability for its customers in Canada and extends its strategic cross-border supply strategy.Five Star Holding, a manufacture of sustainable packaging products.The C$31m deal takes effect immediately. Cascades will retain ownership of the site real estate.
