Friesens Helping Children Develop "love for reading"
ALTONA, MANITOBA—
Friesens announced its ongoing support and participation in the TD Grade One Book Giveaway, a program of The Canadian Children’s Book Centre. Over its 24-year involvement, the book manufacturer has printed and produced about 500,000 - 600,000 books through the initiative.Stephanie Wells, Executive Director of the CCBC said "Friesens has always been a strong advocate in promoting the benefits of literacy and ensuring that we use every opportunity to instill the love of books and reading to every child".
"The greatest gift we can give our children is the ability to read and form a love for the written word, helping them to increase their knowledge and understanding of the world around them." The Canadian Children’s Book Centre donated the books, and Friesens covered the freight and logistics to get them to their destination. The 115 year old company with 600 employee-owners serve publishers, schools, self-publishers, and consumer brands from their 350,000 sq. ft. facilities in Altona, Manitoba, Canada. A majority of their sales are south of the border .

Friesens printed, Violet Shrink. Francophone Canadians and French immersion students will receive copies of the French translation.

Sales went over $100 million in 2022. Listed by Graphic Monthly as Canada's 18th largest printer .
