ROCHESTER— Rebrand of Global Imaging Systems (GIS) to become Xerox Business Solutions (XBS). Global Imaging  sell and service document devices to the small-to-medium size business (SMB) market. Global Imaging is a dealer for a number of Xerox competitors such as  Konica Minolta, Toshiba, Kyocera Mita, Riso, KIP and  Hewlett-Packard. They also distribute EFI,CGS, Dell and Adobe products . In 2007, GIS was acquired by Xerox to operate as an independent subsidiary of Xerox. It has been speculated that  independence may be coming to an end. Carl Icahn an activist investor in Xerox has complained about Global Imaging selling competitors products and not being under the Xerox label.
