Book Sales in Canada Hit $1.13 Billion
TORONTO—
The total volume of print units sold in 2018, as tracked by BNC SalesData, is 54.7 million at a value of $1.13 billion. This is more good news for Canadian book printers. The top 5 books sold in Canada for 2018 were : "Becoming", the hardcover by Michelle Obama, is the top-selling print book with only seven weeks of sales , the second title is " The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck" by Mark Manson.
The third and fourth spots were "12 Rules for Life" by Canadian author Jordan B. Peterson and "Educated" by Tara Westover. The fifth bestselling book was "The Wonky Donkey" by Craig Smith, the 2010 children's book that rose to sudden fame thanks to a viral YouTube video of a Scottish grandmother reading the book to her grandson. The fact that the news media is following what are the top selling printed books appears to be adding to the sale of more books.
