ASL Print FX named 'Best of the Best'
VAUGHAN, ON—The 'Best of the Best' prize in the flexographic category at the recent World Label Awards in Brussels went to Canadian outfit ASL Print FX, for its Rennie Estate Winery label.

This was the inaugural year for the 'Best of the Best' awards, which were given out in five printing categories and launched to celebrate the World Label Awards' 21st anniversary.

To qualify, ASL's Rennie Label received a World Label Award earlier in 2013, its third honour in as many years.

ASL used a Kodak Flexcel NX system, and Kodak Flexcel NX plates, for the label's production. "It provides a consistent and stable foundation that delivers outstanding print quality day in and day out," said Stacy Daly, ASL's vice-president and general manager.

The World Label Association describes the label as giving the country imagery a soft and tranquil feel: "The definition in the images is very good, the registration of the high dome lacquer is exact. The intricacy of the cold foiling adds another dimension to the result. Overall a nice looking result."

ASL Print FX, originally called All Stick Label, launched in 1965 with a focus on sensitive label, promotional and package printing.
