TC Transcontinental wins big at Gutenberg Awards
MONTREAL—TC Transcontinental was one of the big winners at the Gutenberg Awards Gala held April 30 in Montreal. Among its accolades was a win in Technical Challenge, Newspapers.
This year's program saw several changes from organizer Quebec Graphic Communications Institute. The awards categories were reorganized into six product fields (packaging, publishing, etc.), and split into two components: the Technical Challenge and the Innovation Challenge.
"As our industry has evolved significantly in recent years, the Committee should take into account new technologies, new substrates and consumables and hybrid methods," reads a statement on the Gutenberg Gala website. According to the committee, the new categories better highlight these changes and celebrate the expertise of print artisans and their technical know-how.
Transcontinental Transmag's win in the Newspapers publishing category was for the Paillard issue it produced for client Gesca- Le Soleil. Transcontinental Saint-Hyacinthe also won the Innovation Challege award in the Marketing category, for its Panoramax insert for client Uniprinx, and Stylex 3D won in Technical Challenge, Packaging for the Lord of the Rings Extended Edition boxed set it did with Transcontinental Ross-Ellis.
