Manroland's web unit bought by German company
AUGSBURG, GERMANY—Bloomberg is reporting today that industrial conglomerate Possehl & Co. based in Lübeck, Germany has bought Manroland's web press unit in Augsburg, but investors are still being sought for operations in Offenbach and Plauen.
The latter sites will initially be taken over by management, insolvency administrator Werner Schneider told Bloomberg.
It is reported that about 2,500 jobs will be saved from the 4,700 in Germany. The Bloomberg article also notes that Shanghai Electric Group "may still be interested in bidding for the Offenbach plant and several companies have said they are interested in the Plauen site".
