Tornado hits small-town printer
DURHAM, ON—A tornado that ripped through the town of Durham, Ont. yesterday had a devastating effect on Thuro-Web Ltd., a small printing company based in the town’s industrial south end.

According to a story in the Barrie Examiner:

[The building] was intact from the front, but the middle part of the building was destroyed. Pieces of the roof hung over the side of the building like a tarp, and there were several unconfirmed reports that people inside had survived by hiding under the printing press.

A call to the Thuro-Web office today was not answered.

Tornadoes were also reported in Markdale, Collingwood, Newmarket and Vaughan late yesterday afternoon as a fierce storm blew through Ontario.
