Ryerson program chair receives grant for five-year study
TORONTO—Dr. Abhay Sharma, the chair of the School of Graphic Communications Management at Ryerson University, recently received a five-year grant from the government valued at $81,650. Awarded by Canada's Natural Sciences and Engineering Council, Sharma will use the funds to study the measurement of colour in imaging systems, which will include working on the transition from hard to soft proofing.
This is the first time Sharma has received a grant in Canada, and so far he has hired researchers with the money, and is looking into getting some equipment to help with the study. A panel of international reviewers will periodically assess the study, to ensure progress is being made.
