MORTSEL, BELGIUM—  ECO3 has entered the inkjet label press market. All presses use Kyocera piezo printhead technology and are driven by ECO3’s established Apogee Digital workflow system. The Elio range comprises three models starting with the entry-level Elio Essenza, a compact device that prints substrates from 110mm-330mm wide at up to 50m/min, or 25m/min at the maximum resolution of 600x1,200dpi. The Essenza can be configured with four colours (CMYK), five colours (CMYK plus white or spot colour), or six colours (CMYK plus double white or two spot colours) – with orange and violet available for extended gamut printing. Options include inline primer, lamination and die-cutting. Inks are either Elio LED UV inks, or a low migration variant.Its faster sister, the Elio Forma 330, has the same media width, up to eight colour channels, native 1,200dpi resolution and uses purpose-formulated Elio HD inks. Top speed is up to 80m/min.
