MORTSEL, BELGIUM—  Agfa has launched a new version of its entry-level Jeti Tauro hybrid wide-format printer that incorporates advances from its top-of-the range models. The new Jeti Tauro H3300 HS model uses the same platform as its faster siblings, the UHS and XUHS. Agfa currently has more than 500 Tauro models installed worldwide. Enhancements include a revamped media system for easier loading. It also has two monitors so the Tauro HS can be controlled from the front or back. The printer is now IoT-enabled, with benefits including remote service diagnosis. Print speed is 680sqm/hr in draft mode, or 300sqm/hr in three-pass mode. The UV LED device prints CMYK or seven colours (CMYKcmk) with a fully mirrored shuttle. White, primer and varnish are options.It handles boards up to 3.3m wide and 2.5m long, and roll media up to 3.3m wide. Maximum substrate thickness is 50mm. Agfa is manufacturing the new Tauro at its facility in Canada. The first installation is at Canadian retail display specialist Protagon Display.
