HALIFAX—  Hilroy Canada exercise 40-page books are known for the map of Canada on the cover. The design for a glossy version of the notebook also features the map but it's missing some of Canada's geographical features — namely Newfoundland and Cape Breton. Hilroy has apologized for leaving Newfoundland and Cape Breton off the Canadian map on its glossy notebooks, after the mistake led to backlash online. The company said its team has always been proud of the map, “which is exactly why getting it wrong stings.” Hilroy has been a Canadian stationery company since since 1918 and is now owned by American ACCO Brands .
