WINDSOR—  Announcing results for the year ending 30 June, chairman and CEO Keane said it had been a strong year for the group with meaningful progress made. Group sales at Cimpress were up 10% (or 4% on a constant currency basis) to just under $3.74bn. Operating profit was up 11% at $251m, while adjusted EBITDA rose by 6% to $458.5m.  Cimpress founder Robert Keane noted,  this included an unexpected $4.7m write-off of Canadian duty draw-back receivables “based on a revocation of a long-standing prior ruling that we received in the last days of the quarter and that we will contest”. Packaging and labels has become a key growth area. The BoxUp and PackStyle businesses achieved constant currency sales growth of 33%. At VistaPrint, packaging and labels drove nearly as much variable gross profit (VGP) as business cards “and this is a fast-growing category”, while marketing materials, signage and promotional products now each account for a bigger percentage of VGP at VistaPrint than business cards.
