—  Mimaki has unveiled its latest UV printer, the UJV200, which will be available in 1.6m and 1.3m widths.The the new UV roll-to-roll printer builds on Mimaki’s 200 Series range and includes the UJV200-160 and UJV200-130. Both are designed for accessibility, ease of use and high-quality print. The two models support three-layer printing with the inclusion of white and clear inks, making it suited for window graphics, backlit displays along with labels and decorative effects. The engine technology helps deliver "smooth gradients, sharp text and uniform solid colours with minimal graininess," according to Mimaki. The automatic image quality adjustment also allows for reduced setup time and media consumption, the manufacturer said, with the system able to operate across transparent and coloured media. Mimaki estimated a 70% reduction in media usage with the DAS2 and a 60% reduction in adjustment times, compared to previous DAS systems.
