Imperial Dade Scales Back Paper Merchant Division
MISSISSAUGA , ONTARIO—
Imperial Dade (formal Veritiv) is scaling back its Paper Merchant Division in Canada. The company will no longer be a stocking merchant. They will warehouse paper on a pre-sold basis for customers. They will take mill orders and ship to customers as needed. Imperial Dade is also reducing staff in its Paper Merchant Division by about 100.
Some staff are taking early retirement or are being moved to other divisions. Imperial Dade has been expanding in the industrial packaging and janitorial supplies market. Recently buying in Canadian Enterprise Paper, Pro-Tech and Canpaco. Unisource and Xepedex were renamed Veritiv when they merged in 2014. Veritiv was bought by Imperial Dada in 2022.
