Transcontinental Increases Newspaper Business
MONTREAL—
Transcontinental announced it has extended its printing partnership with Postmedia through 2030 and signed a three-year deal with Glacier Media Inc.to print the Victoria Times Colonist, with additional Postmedia volumes shifting to its Vaughan and Halifax plants by early August. This increases Transcontinental’s role as a major newspaper printer in Canada,
potentially increasing plant utilization and reinforcing the resilience of its legacy print operations alongside packaging.Transcontinental has a network of 13 plants in Canada and some 3,500 employees. The company offers a wide range of printing for flyers, in-store marketing products, newspapers, magazines and colour books. Even after the sale of its packaging division it will still be the largest printer in Canada with over a billion in sales.
