International Paper Buying North Pacific Paper
LONGVIEW, WASHINGTON—
International Paper has agreed to acquire North Pacific Paper Company (NORPAC), a portfolio company of One Rock Capital Partners. NORPAC is a U.S.-based paper manufacturer in Longview, Washington. The company employs approximately 500 people at its paper mill, where it operates three industry-leading machines that produce approximately one million tons of containerboard and other grades annually.
In 2025 International Paper cut it's capacity by one million tons, closing its containerboard mill and packaging facility in Savannah Georgia as well as its containerboard mill and timber and lumber facility in Riceboro, Georgia. In 2023 International Paper permanently close its containerboard mill in Orange, Texas and cease production on two of its pulp machines at other sites, reducing capacity by approximately 800,000 tonnes.
