DeLaRue Acquired By Atlas Holdings
BASINGSTOKE, ENGLAND—
The takeover of historic security printer De La Rue by US private equity firm Atlas Holdings has been completed. De La Rue Currency prints banknotes for half of all central banks worldwide and had sales of £207m . It also makes banknote polymer. With a heritage spanning over 200 years and over 1,600 employees. De La Rue has locations in the UK, US, Brazil, and China. The UK headquarters is in Basingstoke, and they also have locations in Dallas and Melbourne in the US, as well as São Paulo, Brazil, and Shenzhen and Suzhou in China.
Atlas already has major holdings in the printing industry. Its portfolio of seven packaging, pulp and paper businesses includes LSC Communications, Lakeside Book Company, ASG (which trades as Spark), Twin Rivers Paper and Crown Paper Group. Lakeside Book Company acquired Marquis Book Printing of Montreal in 2023. Marquis operates three production plants: in Montmagny, Louiseville and Toronto. Marquis also has offices in Montreal and Sherbrooke and sales representation across Canada and the United States.
