The printing industries largest equipment manufactures
 HP has said it plans to cut between 1,000-2,000 jobs in 2025 as part of a structural savings programme that will save the business an additional $300m for its Future Ready restructuring programme. Printing revenues for HP has fallen 2.4% year-on-year in the period, though remain in the $4 billion range that the firm’s print segment has occupied for the past several years. The segment has been bolstered by a 5% increase in total hardware unit

sales and a 5% growth in consumer printing revenues, offset by a fall in commercial print revenues by 7%. Commercial printing accounted for 27% of the firm’s print revenue, with print supplies making up 66% of revenue and consumer print just 7%. The job cuts, announced on 27 February alongside HP's first-quarter results, will be a “key lever” to help secure the firm against macro and geopolitical uncertainty, HP CFO Karen Parkhill told investors.
