It was Canada Post's hope that these proposals will reignite discussions and, together with the support of mediators, help the parties work toward final agreements. To facilitate talks, Canada Post  will not be providing further details outside the negotiations process at this time. Any were from 60% to 70% of what is printed goes through the mail. The last postal strike was a major hit for the Canadian printing industry. A larger percent of Canada Post volume is direct mail with a continual shrinking volume of letter mail.
