RICHMOND . B.C.—  The Paper Excellence Group is taking on the Domtar name is part of a rebranding initiative on after its acquisition of Domtar and Resolution Forest Products. Paper Excellence said that the integration is part of a strategic alignment to create a unified North American leader in forest products manufacturing. Paper Excellence is one of North America’s biggest paper companies. In 2019 they acquired Catalyst paper mills (MacMillan Bloedel, Crown Zellerbach). In 2021, the company doubled in size and international scope with the acquisition of Domtar for $3 billion and a Brazilian pulp and paper company for $2.9 billion. In 2022 they acquired Resolute Forest  ( Merger of Abitibi-Consolidated and Bowater Papers).
