WILLSTAETT, GERMANY—  Flexo supplier consolidation as Xsys acquires MacDermid Graphics Solutions.Xsys has agreed a $300m-plus deal to acquire rival MacDermid Graphics Solutions. MacDermid Graphics Solutions, a division of Element Solutions Inc, is a global manufacturing of photopolymer plates and equipment used in flexographic printing. MacDermid manufactures graphic capabilities for package printing. Xsys makes flexo and letterpress plates and associated imaging equipment with brands including Nyloflex and Nyloprint. It was formerly the pre-press wing of Flint Group and was sold to private equity firm Lone Star Funds three years ago. At the time it had sales of €300m . XSYS has appointed Dr. Alexander Unterschütz as the new Group CEO . His most recently led the Components business at Linde Engineering.  Prior to his 14 years at Linde, he worked as a management consultant with McKinsey & Company.
