Pollard Banknote Picks Up Texas Lottery Business
WINNIPEG—
Canadian Pollard Banknote said it has been awarded a contract from the Texas Lottery Commission to provide scratch tickets and vending services through 2034. Pollard said it will provide a new ticket vending system that changes the way traditional scratch tickets are made available for purchase. Using technology and security with a merchandising display,
players can add traditional scratch tickets to an existing transaction within a multi-lane retail environment, Pollard said. The Texas Lottery said its scratch-ticket sales comprised 81%, or $6.7 billion, of its $8.3 billion in total revenue for the latest fiscal year ended in September. Pollard Banknote sells more than 60 lotteries worldwide, providing instant ticket, pull-tab tickets, bingo paper and other gaming markets in North America. Established in 1907, Pollard Banknote is owned approximately 67.6% by the Pollard family and 32.4% by public shareholders, and is publicly traded on the TSX.
