MONTREAL—  Domtar, has entered into a agreement to acquire Resolute Forest Products. After the acquisition, Resolute will be a wholly-owned subsidiary of Domtar. It will continue to operate under the Resolute name. The management team at Resolute will remain in place. With  Domtar and Resolute, Montreal will become an important hub for the group’s North American businesses. The Domtar plans to retain Resolute’s production locations and levels of jobs. Resolute Forest Products, formerly known as AbitibiBowater Inc., is a Canada-headquartered pulp and paper company. Headquartered in Montreal, Quebec, Resolute was formed in 2007 by the merger of Bowater and Abitibi-Consolidated.
