 McLaren Press Graphics has informed its customers of the pending closure after four decades in business. Company President Drew McLaren cited numerous issues leading to the decision including a global paper shortage, increases in material costs, as well as labour shortages. Mclaren Press will complete all current orders and will close on  May 31st. The last two years have been challenging with business running at 40% lower . Their second largest client ceased publishing at the start of Covid. Then in January of 2022 their largest customer closed its doors.

Like most web printers they have been put on paper allocation at pandemic levels. Trying to build the business back has become almost impossible. Mclaren Press is primarily a newspaper printer. They have 28 offset units ( 8 heatset units) , a Heidelberg 40' five colour with coater , 4 pocket saddle sticher . The company has a staff of 36 and was doing $10 million before the pandemic and now is doing $6 million. McLaren did commercial print and printed 30 community newspapers each week as well as another 50 speciality publications.
