A Ryerson University student has been awarded the 2020-21 Warren Wilkins Memorial Scholarship. “We’re pleased to announce Samir Macklai, a first-year Ryerson University student, has been selected to receive the $5000 scholarship,” said Jeff Ekstein, Chair of Canadian Print Scholarships. “Macklai is a graphic communications management (GCM) student who has caught everyone’s attention,” said Tannisha Lambert, program manager for GCM at Ryerson University.

“The credit for this accomplishment is attributed to my professors and peers for their support and guidance throughout the whole process,” said Macklai.The scholarship was established to honour the late Warren Wilkins, a visionary leader in the Canadian printing industry who worked diligently to foster and support new talent for the industry. It provides special recognition to a particularly deserving student starting their post-secondary studies toward a career in the graphic communications industry.
