—  PRINTING United Alliance and Idealliance have announce they are planing to merge the organizations. The board of directors at each organization  have unanimously voted to merger. Last year, SGIA and PIA officially merged to become PRINTING United Alliance, the largest graphic arts association in North America. SGIA had bought NAPCO which publishes Printing Impressions and does events. The proposed merger of the two  industry organizations will be finalized on March 1,  following consideration by Idealliance members at a meeting of members on January 28, in accordance with Idealliance bylaws. Idealliance is also a combination os several industry associations. 55 years ago it started out as the Graphic Communication Computer Association . Than became Digital Enterprise Alliance, than Ideallinace. Over the years National Association of Printers and Lithographers (NAPL) and National Association of Quick Printers (NAQP) have merged with Idealliance.
