Cascades Closing Another Packaging Plant

 Cascades has said it is closing its  packaging plant on Evans Avenue in Etobicoke, Ontario   within the next year, putting 125  workers out of jobs. Cascades Packaging operations will permanently close by August 31, 2021. The property will be put up for sale. This is the fourth  Cascades plant to be closed in Ontario in the last 3 years.
Was one of Canada's largest packaging companies. Bought in 2006 by Cascades

Plants in Barrie and Peterborough where closed in 2018 and the plant in Burlington was closed in May of 2020. The Etobicoke plant was part part of Norampac a joint venture between Domtar and Cascades. Cascades bought Domatar out in 2006.
