The Fuji Xerox battle continues

Xerox’s attempts to dismiss Fujifilm’s $1 billion lawsuit has failed .

After the collapse of the Fuji Xerox joint merger a year ago , Fujifilm announced it was suing Xerox,  on the basis that Xerox had reneged on the agreement to transfer 50.1 percent of ownership to Fujifilm. Xerox then appealed to the court to dismiss the lawsuit, but this request has been  denied . The  court made the decision in late  February

,  giving Fujifilm the upper hand  in the latest twist of this on going  saga. The Judge  described Xerox’s arguments for dismissal as

“thoroughly unpersuasive,” in particular the argument that the suit should be heard in a different court. Most experts think it is unlikely that the Fujifilm Xerox merger can be put back together but this latest development gives the deal a little bit of a chance. If sucessful it will put a hole in Xerox's finances.
