Jobs report for last 6 months
Jobs report for last 6 months
PrintJOBs.ca Canada's largest job board for the printing industry six month report is out. PrintJOBs.ca tracts both number of jobs posted and the number of views or searches by category. The # 1 for both postings was bindery positions. The same as previous years. The # 2 was Press Operators for postings and views. This is the first time Press Operators has been this high up since 2008.

For job postings # 3 was Digital Press Operators. # 4 was Customer Service followed by Sales People ( drop down from last year) and then Estimators ( again drop from last year). On searches # 3 was Press Feeders than #4 Estimators and #5 was Customer Service. Sales was down at #7, way down from previous years. Job board adds have remained up for almost twice as long as before indicating that there are more jobs but fewer people to fill them. Some employers have been complaining of a labour shortage.
