Jet Label Installs RFID In-Line Inserting System
EDMONTON—
Jet Label & Packaging, Western Canada’s largest label printer , has installed a single-pass RFID inserting system involving an existing Mark Andy flexographic press and an RFID application unit from Tamarack. The resulting single-pass RFID insertion sees label stock briefly opened for RFID inlay, then relaminated via finishing operations. The new system then verifies RFID function with a reader system after die-cutting. RFID labels are becoming increasingly popular in Canada and the U.S., to streamline processing issues and reduce costs.
Jet Label & Packaging has plants in Edmonton and Vancouver, Jet Label produces labels and printed tape. With a diverse portfolio of customers, such as Safeway, Sobeys, Canfor, West Fraser, Bee Maid Honey, Arctic Chiller, Acklands Grainger and Gregg Distributors.
Jet Label also supplies parking and boarding passes and baggage tags to the Toronto, Calgary, and Edmonton International Airports. Jet has sales and distribution operations in Calgary, Prince George, Kelowna, Surrey, Saskatoon and Winnipeg.
