Eastern Sign Print taken over by Advocate Printing
STELLARTON, NOVA SCOTIA—
Advocate Printing & Publishing is taking over Eastern Sign Print which was owned by Sobeys. Eastern Sign Print has been owned by Sobeys since 1973 with wide format and digital presses. They sold off their offset equipment to Advocate about seven years ago. Advocate will rent the facilities from Solbeys and all the staff will transition to Advocate Printing over the next 120 days.
Advocate Printing& Publishing is one of the largest independent printers in Atlantic Canada with over 200 employees. Over 125 years old, Advocate is involved in both printing and publishing. With sheetfed, digital presses, wide format and web presses. The publishing arm does magazines, guides and newspapers. They have plants in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia They were ranked as Canada's 24th largest printer.
