Rayacom acquires assets of Generation Printing
EDMONTON, AB—Rayacom Group, a full-service commercial printing company in Edmonton Alberta, has acquired the assets of Vancouver’s Generation Printing.
With the acquisition, Rayacom will expand its operation capacities by adding a fully loaded Heidelberg CD102-6LX3 40” press with anilox coater, factory UV prep and a triple extended delivery, as well as a 6 Color HP Indigo 5500R.
Rayacom aims to use its newly acquired Heidelberg to tackle new markets and better serve agencies and brokers within the trade printing market. It will also allow them to offer larger sheet sizes, metallic prints and a variety of stock thickness up to 48 pt. cardstock. This acquisition has allowed Rayacom to upgrade their production facilities to upwards of 30,000 sq. ft.
"Generation Printing is a significant player in the Vancouver market, with unique manufacturing capabilities and strong complimentary customer relationships,” Rayacom Group’s CEO, Austin Tran, said. "With immediate synergies, this transaction enhances our market presence in the west coast, and significantly elevates our manufacturing capabilities while improving our ability to unlock capacities in our various stores across Canada.”
The company will now be operated under the name, New Generation Printing and continue to operate as an individual entity, supported by Rayacom Group’s propriety web-to-print, B2B system and senior management team.
"Rayacom's national footprint and innovative approach to printing makes them the perfect company to take our organization to the next level,” Generation Printing’s CEO, Edward Kouwenhoven, said. “This strategic acquisition will create more and better choices for our customers and we anticipate a seamless transition."
There are 11 Rayacom locations across Canada including Toronto, Regina, Saskatoon, Edmonton, Red Deer, Calgary, Kelowna, Burnaby and Vancouver. With this acquisition, plans of launching a new west coast trade printing division are in the works.
