Sun Chemical acquires Colmar Inks
TORONTO, ON—Sun Chemical, a producer of printing inks, coatings, pigments and more, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire certain assets and liabilities of the Ontario-based Colmar Inks Corporation.

Colmar manufactures liquid inks and coatings for the corrugated and paper packaging market as well as special inks for the rod coatings market.

“Our customer relationships are our most treasured asset and we are excited about the opportunity to serve these new customers with the expanded capabilities of Sun Chemical’s global technology base,” Charles Murray, president, North American inks, Sun Chemical, said. “We will work closely with Colmar and visit each customer to ensure a smooth transition through reliable, on-time delivery and consistent product quality.”

The acquisition will allow Sun Chemicals to expand its liquid ink customer base in Canada and to continue to strengthen its market position as a supplier of lithographic, flexographic and gravure inks and coatings in the region.
