Canon Canada names new CEO
MISSISSAUGA, ON—Canon Canada has promoted Taizaburo "Ted" Egawa to the roles of president and chief executive officer, replacing Kazuto "Kevin" Ogawa.
Ogawa moves on to an executive role with Canon China and the Canon Asia Group. "I want to thank Kevin for leading and guiding Canon Canada over the past six years," stated Joe Adachi, president and chief exec of Canon USA and chairman of Canon Canada.
"He successfully grew Canon's brand and presence in the Canadian market and effectively led the organization under challenging economic conditions."
Egawa (pictured up top) was most recently vice president and general manager of strategy planning and administration for the Imaging Technologies and Communications Group at Canon USA. "He played an integral role in strengthening Canon USA's Imaging Technologies and Communications Group business and expanded our company's reach into new domains. He is a strong leader, whose skills and abilities will serve the Canadian region well," said Adachi.
Egawa has been with Canon since 1983, starting with a sales position in the international business management department. He has worked at global divisions including Japan and the U.S., and spent a year with the camera and video division from 1984-1985. His appointment is effective immediately.
