I have worked for Transcontinental for years and they dont care about the worker, so if you work for them now, please listen and  run and find a better job somewhere that respects you even if its lower in pay! My thoughts are with the laid off wokers. Keep you chin up - things are greener on the other side of that companys wall!

Been there, done that. Started with trans in 1983 till 2005 - at the end they just told me I was getting to old after 21 years. As for looking for their help in finding a job, good luck with that.  Life goes on. I'm still printing but with the smaller companys who cares about their people.

I worked for them too—everyone takes this kind of news as personal. It isnt. Sad and unfortunate, yes. Transcon has been succesful for a reason. It's a smart business decision to close a tired, inefficient plant and utilize capacity at another. Same reason you buy a new car, cause the old one is tired and not running the way it should. Nothing lasts forever guys; dont take this so personal. Remember that this is a business—they employ thousands, and like everything else, a few will suffer so that many can prosper. If you want a lifetime gig, go work for the government. By the sounds of the whining and complaining you guys are perfect for handing me my license plate.
