Transcontinental posts strong third quarter
MONTRÉAL—For the fifth quarter in a row Transcontinental has reported its operating income is up, over the previous fiscal year for the third quarter, which ended July 31.
The company reported consolidated revenues down 0.8% to $500.3 million compared to $504.4 million in the same quarter of 2009.
Third quarter results are mainly due to the impact of rationalization measures taken in 2009, the contribution from new printing contracts and to the higher advertising spending by major retailers, according to a company release.
