TI Group acquires Custom Data Imaging
TORONTO—TI Group has expanded operations with the acquisition of Custom Data Imaging Corporation, a Markham, Ont.-based company that specializes in variable data printing. The move adds VDP capabilities to the group's digital portfolio, which include wide-format imaging.
“This is a strategic investment for our company,” said TI Group president Marc Fortier. “Although we did explore the possibility of a greenfield for our VDP business, CDIC gives us a turnkey solution and the ideal platform to expand from. With the investment we are making in CDIC we are bringing both valuable industry expertise and new capabilities to our organization."
CDIC's strength is in the direct marketing area and the acquisition allows TI Group to move into the direct mail field, the company said.
TI Group also announced Ed Shields, a 20-year veteran of the industry, will be joining CDIC as a partner and as vice president of business development, direct mail.
TI Group has also added a Heidelberg Speedmaster CD 102-6+LX with UV capabilities and Prinect Image Control to its premises.
