Ellis shuts down set-up box operations
BRANTFORD, ON—Ellis Packaging Ltd. closed its Brantford plant at the end of 2008, eliminating eight staff, John Clark, president of Ellis Packaging West, told PrintCan.
The plant’s main operation—production of set-up boxes—was no longer self-sustaining, Clarke said, since most of the set-up box business has gone to China over the last decade or so.
The Brantford facility is now up for sale. Ellis plants in Pickering, Ont., Mississauga, Ont., and Guelph, Ont. continue to operate.
